Update Workflow Inputs

Replace a whole list, as the editor stores it; a list not sent stays as it is. For a function, inputs are part of its draft: send the revision you last read in If-Match (the response's meta.revision is the new one), and publish to make them live; a function without a Function Inputs step gets one. A function's variables, and a workflow's inputs (its variables), are live at once with their values and take no If-Match; sent with a function's inputs, both are written together or not at all. A key left out is made from the label, as the editor makes it. An input sent back exactly as read (a { $legacy } or { $sensitive } value included) stays exactly as stored. Every error is answered at once in details.issues.

The workflow's id, from List Workflows.

Optional. The id of a child organization of your API key's company to act on. Leave it out to act on the key's own company. See Child organizations.

Body

Arguments
array

Every input, in order. A function input: { key, label, description, type, testValue }. A workflow variable: { key, label, type, required, errorMessage, placeholder, ... , values: { <environmentId>: value } }.

Every input, in order: replaces the list. An input keeps its stored id and settings when its key is kept, and is kept exactly as stored when sent back as read.

array

Functions only: every workflow variable, in order, as a workflow's inputs take them: { key, label, type, required, errorMessage, placeholder, ... , values: { <environmentId>: value } }.

Functions only: every workflow variable, in order, in the shape a workflow's inputs take: replaces the list, live at once.

Response fields

typestring

function: a function's inputs, part of its draft (send its revision in If-Match to change them), and its workflow variables; workflow: the workflow's variables, with their value in each environment.

inputsarray of objects

Every input, in order.

  • keystring

The name a step reads it by: {{ function.inputs.<key> }} or {{ workflow.inputs.<key> }}. Made from the label when left out, as the editor makes it; an array variable's ends in "[]". Absent only on an input kept as stored ({ $legacy, ref }).

  • labelstring

    The name the editor shows.

  • typestring

The data type: string, number, boolean, date, list (one of its choices), array, object, or file. Left out on a write: string.

Function inputs: the value a run from the editor uses, as a step argument of the same type takes it (a template may use system, memory, workflow.inputs and integration.metadata).

Workflow variables (not boolean): every environment whose values change needs a value.

  • errorMessagestring

Workflow variables: the message shown when a value is refused.

  • placeholderstring

Workflow variables (not boolean): the hint in an empty field.

  • sensitiveboolean

Workflow string variables: masked in the editor; its values read as { $sensitive, ref } and are kept when sent back so.

Workflow string variables: the shortest value.

Workflow string variables: the longest value.

Workflow string variables: a regular expression a value must match.
