Set up an API integration

Create a connect-only integration and let a customer connect an app for Embedded API use.

A connect-only integration lets a customer connect one app without configuring workflows. Your backend can then run that app's actions through the Universal API.

  1. Enable MindCloud Embedded and create an API key.

  2. In the MindCloud dashboard, open Embedded → API and select Create Integration.

  3. Choose the app and save the integration. This section creates a connect-only integration; it does not add workflows.

  4. Create an end user for your customer and store the returned MindCloud ID.

  5. Let that customer connect the app. You can use a hosted installation link or the Embedded SDK.

  6. Copy the installationId from the integration's Installations list and store it beside your customer record. Use that ID for Universal API calls.

The customer can have more than one installation. Always select the intended installation. Do not use a company connection when the action must run as one customer.
